Founded in 1999, the North West Housing Forum is the representative body for housing in the North West of England. This massively diverse region has vibrant cities and areas of outstanding natural beauty, but these sit beside other areas in need of major regeneration (including the former Housing Market Renewal Pathfinder areas), remote rural communties and areas with major problems of affordability. The Forum, working with regional and national partners, endeavours to address the varied issues arising in these distinct areas.
We cover the 5 sub regions of Cheshire, Cumbria, East Lancashire, Greater Manchester, Lancashire West and Merseyside, representing the Strategic Housing Authorities in those areas. We are not party political, although politically led through Local Elected Member representation, and also represent the issues facing Housing Associations and Arms Length Management Organisations in the region.
Our success is built on a strong partnership, bringing together a wide range of organisations with an interest in housing issues, and truly representing those issues rather than individual sectors.
